Al Karama is the quiet answer to Deira. Across the 11 listings live on Qozey there, prices run AED 700 to AED 4,200, with the middle around AED 750 — essentially Deira money, in a calmer and more residential district.
What is available
Dominated by bed spaces, with a partition, a private room and a studio in the mix. More than half include kitchen access, which is among the best ratios on this site — Karama is a cooking neighbourhood.
It is also the strongest area for ladies-only listings: four of the eleven, the highest proportion anywhere.
Getting around
ADCB and Al Karama stations put you on the Red and Green lines, and Karama sits close enough to Bur Dubai and the Trade Centre to make short commutes genuinely short.
Who it suits
- Anyone who cooks. The kitchen access, the markets and the cheap restaurants are the whole character of the place.
- Ladies looking for a bed space or room in an area with real supply — see ladies-only accommodation.
- Anyone who wants Deira's price without Deira's noise.
What the price does not tell you
Karama is low-rise and residential in a way that Deira and Al Rigga are not. Streets are quieter after 10pm, the buildings are lower, and the feel is closer to a neighbourhood than a commercial district. For the same money as Deira, that is a genuine difference — and it is the reason Karama listings tend not to sit empty.
What to check here specifically
- Kitchen access — likely, but confirm, and ask how many share it.
- How many in the room, since bed spaces dominate.
- Distance to the actual Metro entrance, not to the station on a map.
- Whether the building has parking, if you drive — it is scarce here.
Karama vs Deira
Same rough price. Deira gives you the very cheapest end of the market and the busiest streets; Karama gives you a quieter building, more chance of a kitchen, and the best ladies-only supply. If the two come in at the same number, Karama is usually the more comfortable year.
